Well I made it to the second class meeting on 10/30 only about 30 minutes late. I was expecting to miss it and have to make it up later with Bill, but things actually worked out better then I expected.
Being late I guess I did not miss much, with the bulk of the important […]

Artistry In Wood 2007

Yep, the first public show I entered some of my work into. The Artistry In Wood show hosted by the Des Moines Woodworker Association was at the Woodsmith store in Clive, Iowa this last weekend. I dropped off three pieces on Friday, family and I stopped out on Saturday to walk through and see everything, […]

I went through the process of mixing up some of the home brew veneer softener/flattening solution, and then used it on some choice sheets of my veneer following Bill’s class instructions. The whole process was very easy and after checking the material late Sunday, working quite well. I have to say had I not been […]

Cutting the Curve

I was able to complete cutting the curved handles out on my band saw along with the scroll saw for the inside curves, and shape them over by doing some various sanding, but that was about all I accomplished on my trunk trays this last weekend (sorry no pictures yet). The new project that started […]

Great Start On The Tray

I finally got off my butt and put in a few extra woodworking hours this last weekend, getting off to a great start on the lift out trays for each of the completed steamer trunks.

As you can see not only was I able to square up and plane down the remaining rough lumber, but I […]
